Introduction to the blog

I have thought long and hard about how I wanted to form this blog part of the website. My goal is to help bring education and a source to utilize if there is a topic on which anyone would have questions related to nutrition and health.
Being a full-time nutrition student, I must write a lot of research papers. Behind every research paper are countless peer-reviewed articles and hours of reading. I have always thought that going to college, you get out of it what you put into it! Well, how can I help bring that tedious study to good use? Providing the research to everyone else in a much easier-to-read blog!
My goal is to provide the most up-to-date information on topics that concern health and wellness along with nutrition. I, of course, will provide the resources that I have for anyone who wants to dig into the topic. You can never have enough knowledge! I want to engage everyone in a way that gives insight and accurate information.
Topics that I do feel need to be addressed are different types of diets, how they each affect the body, and whether they are sustainable for long-term adherence. It is important to always ask questions and research something that you see on social media. We all know that there are tons of influencers in the world. Are they giving you accurate information,, or are they only giving a biased opinion? Something that worked for them may not work for you and may negatively affect your health. Where do they get their information from? Is it credible and what is the research behind it? Now I’m not here to slam anyone or discredit by any means. I simply believe that we should not take everything at face value and that we need to ask questions for our own benefit. I am open to suggestions on what you want to see on this blog. I will be more than happy to dig into the research and post about it. I want to break down the different macronutrients and how each one plays a role in our overall wellness, as well as break the stigma over eating!
As I go along on my journey of learning, I feel that it is essential to share my findings with everyone. Together, we can make a difference not only in ourselves but in our families and our world.
