My Story

When was the last time you ate something and didn't feel guilty? There is so much information on the internet about what to eat and not to eat. How do we decide? That is why I started Crooked Cup. Nutrition isn't a one-size-fits-all. It's just as unique and dynamic as each one of us. For years, I struggled with an eating disorder. I can honestly say that body dysmorphia consumed my adolescent years. It was when I turned 30 that I hit a turning point. That's when my search began. I started going to the gym with my husband, and we started the never-ending cycle of yoyo dieting. I was constantly looking for the perfect diet. Consistency was just not a thing. That's when I started trying to learn about holistic health. I knew there was a better way and I owed it to myself to find it. I started my studies in herbalism at the Heart of Herbs. Demetria Clark was and still is a great mentor and support system. In her program, I was required to take on a secondary study, and that is what led me to nutrition. I started with a certificate in nutrition coaching, which only ignited the spark to learn more. Now, I am a full-time student working towards my Bachelor's Degree in Holistic Nutrition. I want to be able to empower everyone to begin the journey of self-love. Eating is a basic necessity, and we should not feel ashamed to nourish our bodies! It's time for a change, and together, we can do anything!

"Give power to those things that you love most in your life, those that nourish the spirit of joy and gratitude."
